Current treatment of cancer spread beyond the primary organ of origin (metastatic cancer) is based on combination of drugs that kill cancer cells and called Chemotherapy. The option of cytoreductive surgery and HIPEC provides a new avenue to selected patients with peritoneal surface malignancies.
